New Life and New Beginnings

New Life and New Beginnings

In keeping with the theme of springtime, new life, and new beginnings, let us look at some of the things we find in the Bible pertaining to us that God has made new, or things that He promises to make new.

The first "new" thing I want to point out is found in II Corinthians 5:17, where we learn that in Christ we are "new creatures"- remade a new creature. "If then any be in Christ a new creature, the old things are passed away, behold all things are made new." Thank God for the new creature He has made us in Christ! Thank God that the old things are passed away! Thank God that we're not what we use to be!

The biggest "old thing" that passed away was that we once were children of the devil with a destination for hell. We're new creatures, new creations, re-made, in Christ. We're no longer of our father the devil, we're the children of God. we're no longer bound to the old things of the past, our old sins, our old vices, our old habits, and our old, defeated lives; now "all things are become new" in Christ- new home, new family, new eternal desiny, new father, new mother, new life!

You have probably heard this before, but it's worth hearing again: "I'm not what I ought to be, but praise be to Jesus, I'm not what I used to be!"
