Armour Of Truth: Protecting The Loins

Armour Of Truth: Protecting The Loins

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth." (Ephesians 6:14)

In Proverbs 7:1-5, we have the instructions as to how to use truth to protect our loins. "My son, keep my words, and lay up my precepts with thee. Son, Keep my commandments, and thou shalt live: and my law as the apple of thy eye: Bind it upon thy fingers, write it upon the tables of thy heart. Say to wisdom: Thou art my sister: and call prudence thy friend,That she may keep thee from the woman that is not thine, and from the stranger who sweeteneth her words." The strange women is very dangerous. Many have exited the will of god and the work of God as a result of being attracted to her beauty and flattery. Samson, the strongest man, David, the most spiritual man, and Solomon, the wisest man, were all brought down by way of unprotected loins.

Covering the loins speaks of protecting moral purity. Truth is paramount in protecting my moral purity. Jesus is the way, the truth...(John 14:6). My relationship with Him and my followship of Him is a key factor in protecting my loins. His example will never lead me to deceit nor to the strange woman. The Spirit of truth (I John 5:6) and my yielding to the Spirit of God are necessary in order to protect my loins. You are as yielded to the Holy Spirit as you are obedient to His Word. No more no less. You are in tune with Jesus who is the Word (John 1:1) as you are with the scriptures (II Timothy 3:16) and sacred, living traditions (I Thessalonians 2:15). You are to live by every word "that proceedeth from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4). The truth will set you free. It will get you in harmony with the Lord and filled with the Spirit. Sanctify them in truth. Thy word is truth. (John 17:17) To sanctify is to set apart or devote something to God. The means of achieving this is obedience to the word of God. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (James 1:22).

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalms 119:9-11) We must take heed to His word and hide it in our hearts if we want it to be our protection.
